The Logistics Operations Supervisor (BIO) oversees the daily performance of the Biological Operations (BIO) logistics team, ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of biological samples and related services. This role combines operational leadership, data analysis, stakeholder management, and team development. The Supervisor ensures that all processes align with service expectations, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals while fostering a unified, high‑performing department.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of biological samples.
Oversee day‑to‑day team operations, ensuring productivity, quality, and adherence to SOPs.
Clearly define expectations, objectives, and mission priorities for the team.
Monitor team performance and report on key metrics, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
Plan and organize team‑building activities to strengthen collaboration and department identity.
Cultivate a unified, high‑performing team culture through consistent communication and leadership.
Operational Oversight
Monitor all logistics operations shipments to ensure proper routing, follow‑up, and on‑time delivery to designated destinations.
Analyze delivery routes to identify optimization opportunities and improve service efficiency.
Work closely with cross‑functional departments to ensure operational, administrative, and compliance functions are executed effectively.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding BIO logistics operations.
Attend to customer needs and provide timely solutions to operational issues.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key performance metrics and trends.
Conduct ad‑hoc analyses to address specific business questions and operational challenges.
Analyze biological sample metrics to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with service protocols.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains through data‑driven insights.
Contribute to the development of long‑term service and operational roadmaps.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand client objectives and develop strategies to achieve high levels of client satisfaction.
Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders to resolve issues, align expectations, and maintain service timelines.
Communicate team performance, operational updates, and improvement initiatives to leadership and partners.
Compliance, Quality & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and service protocols.
Identify and address deviations, non‑compliance issues, or risks that may impact service integrity.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure continuity of service.
Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve operational issues and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications & Skills Required
3–5 years of experience as a Supervisor, preferably in logistics, clinical operations, or a related field.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external partners.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and adherence to protocols.
Ability to identify and resolve issues in the shipment process.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines.
Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting, metrics analysis, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Work Setting
Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
Regular use of hands, fingers, and close visual acuity for computer work, data analysis, and documentation.
